perfect form for the Riseball

“ What pitching practice means to me is what can I do to get better today. My sister Alexa is a great pitcher. I want to be better than her one day.”

– Cydni Mason
.
“Hard work can get a pitcher off the ground from the start. Dedication can help too. Determination to be the best can really give an average pitcher momentum. When a pitcher is Determined, it increases the Drive in her to do whatever it takes to raise performance. It’s as simple as making a choice.” – Coach Adam
“Cydni is getting better. She wants it. I think she is determined to do her best. This year was tough. WE know it’s going to get tougher. She made up her mind to do it. Cydni wanted to train with the advanced pitchers last week and the week before. Adam did not think she was ready but when she got her chance, assistant camp coach Kelli showed her the ropes to the perfect Riseball that she has been perfecting with Coach Adam at his Advanced Camp for College Pitchers. To have a D2 Pitcher in camp really motivated Cydni. When she put the plan in motion, she amazed everyone there. Once she set her goal to reach higher and learn more she does it. Hard to imagine an 11 year old with these new skills.”

"Acers Ace" Michelle Fowler leading the Acers in 2009-2010

Michelle Fowler is looking to guide the Acers Kasner 12u Team in 2009-2010 on the mound with a new attitude. Pitching for Acers in 2009 "in season" was quite a challenge for the young ace. Michelle is only about 70 pounds and stands about 5' tall. What makes this pitcher a threat is her strong arm and intelligent approach to pitching.
.
"She can throw anything you teach her in practice and then go out and bat 500 or a 1000 on the day. Spectators stopped what they were doing when Michelle got up to bat." - coach Adam
.
It really is a combination of inner-strengths and having a few pitches to hurl into the strike zone. Having a great attitude about pitching can really get a young pitcher through some tough times. Michelle experienced her first game that she pitched well in but did not have the experienced fielders behind her to get runners out at first. Michelle was often in some challenging games where she just did not have players backing her up on defense or maybe that day the line-up was not hitting well or not at all but pitched she would throw a good game. Often throwing more strikes than balls, Michelle was looking to start many games for the young Acers. Experience and hard work should make up for those tough losses she experienced during the 09 season to get her to the next level.
Just a very good all around athlete, pitcher and hitter. Someone you can depend on in tough game situations. The Acers coaching staff and Coach Kasner will find out how tough this kid is in 2010!
